This wine shows a characteristic bright yellow color, with a vibrant minerality that’s reminiscent of the sea. It has good structure on the palate, well-integrated acidity, and a great aromatic intensity with a touch of floral notes.
PRODUCER PROFILE
Lagar da Condesa was founded by the Gil family. The winery is located in the town of Arcos da Condesa, within the Val do Salnés area of Rías Baixas. The winery is surrounded by its own Albariño vineyards, which are trained on pergolas five feet off the ground to ensure plenty of ventilation to counter the damp climate. They also work with a network of small holders (very much the local model) for extra fruit. Their philosophy is to combine tradition with modernity; for instance, while the grapes are all hand-harvested, the winery utilises the latest technology to create the best quality wine.
VINEYARD & VINIFICATION
Mainly granitic and alluvial soils. The grapes are harvested by hand as required by the DO and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is kept in contact with its fine lees to provide texture in the mouth and improve aging, for a period of time never less than three months.
