TASTING NOTES

This vibrant and aromatic wine show cases tropical notes, minerality, and the distinctive character of an English hedgerow. The nose is filled with hints of peach, elder flower, and guava, along with delicate fruit and fragrant white blossoms. A rich array of citrus, green mango, and black currant leaf further elevates the bouquet. On the palate the wine is fresh, zesty, and crisp with a bright tropical and citrus character. The crispness provides excellent structure and enhances the wine’s refreshing profile.

PRODUCER PROFILE

Lyme Bay has trodden its own path within the English wine industry. The Lyme Bay range is broad, from entry point bottles to single vineyard wines which represent the highest quality of fruit within a given vintage. They have trusted growers from Herefordshire to Essex which gives them the climactic variety to pick the right fruit for each cuvée.

VINEYARD & VINIFICATION

The 2023 Bacchus blend included fruit from Devon and Essex, high lighting the best of East and West. Hand harvested between the 27th of September and the 4th of October 2023. Each parcel of fruit was fermented in individual lots at temperatures ranging from 12°C to 17°C, with specially selected yeast strains to help en hanceour house style of Bacchus. After racking, the wines were selected and blended, then left to rest on fine lees forseveral months before final filtration and bottling.
