Lifted lemon, lime, kaffir lime leaves, roasted fennel, bay leaves on the nose. The palate is Juicy, light, lively acidity, fresh, vibrant, good length and focus, good texture, hints of chalky texture.

PRODUCER PROFILE

Josef Chromy is a passionate advocate for Tasmanian food and wine and will be seen in years to come as a pioneer for the region. Originally from Czechoslovakia, Chromy fled his war-torn homeland at age 19 during the 1950s and eventually settled in Australia. He built a successful career in the meat industry before becoming enamoured with winemaking and grape growing. Josef Chromy wines was established in 2007 with commitment to sustainability and making wines that reflect the picturesque, rugged and dramatic surroundings of the Tasmanian landscape.”

VINEYARD & VINIFICATION

Nestled in the cool-climate vineyards of Southern Tasmania, a sustainable approach is taken by embracing Integrated Pest Management (IPM), focusing on nurturing beneficial insects rather than relying on insecticides. By planting lush grasses and vibrant flowers, they create a natural habitat that supports these vital creatures. Once harvested, the grapes are gently fermented in stainless steel tanks with a cool fermentation process over two weeks, preserving their crisp acidity and fresh fruit aromas.
