TASTING NOTES
This wine opens with an elegant bouquet of delicate floral notes and bright citrus. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of fresh fruit and lively acidity, creating a vibrant and refreshing profile. The finish is long and clean, marked by a subtle, mouth watering salinity that adds depth and character.
PRODUCER PROFILE
Father and son duo Jean-Louis and Jean-Christophe run this 22-hectare estate based in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux. In France, Saint Bris is much sought-after, but thank fully it remains under-the-radar in the UK, making these wines areal coup when it comes to quality and pedigree of terroir. Soils are either Portland or Kimmeridgian and the village is full of 11th and 12th century cellars. Bersan’s barrel cellar, carrying the name of the domaine above the door, is particularly lovely – the perfect place to age fine wine.
PRACTICES VINEYARD & VINIFICATION
Crafted by hand using organic methods, the wine comes from clay-limestone hillside vineyards that lend both structure and elegance. Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts to preserve the purity of the fruit and expression of terroir, with vinification taking place in tanks to maintain freshness and precision.
