TASTING NOTES

Intense straw yellow colour with light golden reflections. The nose offers great intensity and olfactory complexity, with floral aromas of chamomile and white flowers, as well as fruity notes of Golden Delicious apple, lychees, pear, apricot, yellow peach, and mango. There is a pleasant spicy note of ginger and a mineral quality. On the palate, it is dry, savoury, and full-bodied with excellent aromatic persistence. A wine with great potential that can offer delightful emotions if allowed to age.

PRODUCER PROFILE

Monte del Frà gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. Fastforward several centuries, Monte del Frà is now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family. For six decades and three generations, the family have farmed this land. In tandem with their growing connection to the land, the family has also increasingly worked towards sustainable agriculture.

VINEYARD & VINIFICATION

This wine is made from grapes grown in a vineyard over 30 years old, which gives it a profound character. The winemaking process involves pre-fermentation cryo-maceration, where the grapes are chilled to extract aromas and colour before fermentation, followed by soft pressing to avoid bitter tannins. Fermentation and ageing “sur lies” then take place in steel and concrete vats for the Garganega grapes from October to May. Finally, the wine is aged in the bottle for at least 6 months before being released for sale.
