PRODUCER PROFILE
Marras Wines is a South African producer in the Swartland region, led by winemaker Martin “Marras” Lamprecht. They specialise in authentic, terroir-driven wines, using grapes from old vineyards to create expressions that are pure in fruit and rich in character. The focus is on traditional methods and minimal intervention to highlight the unique qualities of the grapes and their origin.
PRACTICES VINEYARD & VINIFICATION
From dry-farmed bush vines in Swartland’s rugged granite and shale soils, this Shiraz-Cinsault is hand-picked and wild-fermented with partial whole bunches. Aged for 10 months in seasoned 500L oak barrels, it’s bottled unfiltered and unfined. The result is a vibrant, terroir-driven red with juicy dark fruit, soft tannins, and subtle spice crafted with minimal intervention to reflect the purity of site and grape.
